The MGA replaced the MG TF and was built between 1955 and 1962. In total 101,081 cars were produced. Most cars were exported, only 5,868 were sold in the UK.
Initially built as a 1500cc car, it was increased to 1600cc in 1959 and there was also a twin cam model. The 1600cc model accelerated 0-100kph in approx 13.3 secs
MGA's were raced and in 1955 three were entered in the Le Mans 24 hour race, 2 finishing in places 12 and 17 overall. MGAs have featured extensively in films and TV; in 1961 a red MGA featured in Elvis Presley film "Blue Hawaii" - he liked the car so much he bought it and today it is still at 'Gracelands'.
This particular car has been subject to a full "nut-and-bolt" restoration in The Netherlands in recent years and has hardly been used since - perfect!
We've happily passed on ownership to a good friend and look forward to many great rallies together!
