The Mini was produced by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and it's successors from 1959 to 2000. One of the most successful cars of all time, a total of 5,387,862 cars were produced. It was a highly successful design that made a small car feel big. The transverse engine meant that 80% of the floorpan could be used for passengers and luggage. Very much an icon of the 1960's the mini cut across all class divides; it was equally popular with Royalty, film and  pop stars and the man-in-the-street. It was also very successful in motorsport, assisted by the collaboration with John Cooper. Mini Coopers won the Monte Carlo in 1964, 1965 and 1967. In 1966 Mini's finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd but a controversial decision ruled the headlights to be non-standard.

This particular car is an early "Mark 1" model with a floor-mounted push-button starter. It has been recently completely restored to "as new" condition in it's original fiesta yellow with a white roof. The original 848cc engine has been replaced with a Cooper 998cc unit (though the original engine remains in the Bulldog collection).
